Ever wonder how an artist created their work? Do you wish you had an opportunity to ask them about their technique? Here is your chance to see local artists Juanita Baldwin, Jozefa Rogocki, Youngshill Roberts, and Darlene Matthews working on-site.
Artist demo’s will began at 2pm | Free & open to the public.
This photography and graphic design exhibit showcases the work of artists Khalid Ibrahim and Terry Sieting. The mission for this project is the belief that everyone is a bicyclist. The artists are working to challenge the perspective of cycling to non-bicyclists and and bicyclists alike. This movement sets out to inform the public about the world of cycling through effective communication.
Have you ever taken a bike ride with 20 – 70 other people? Join the Lansing Bike Party for one of their many community bike rides. This is a fun way to bike the Lansing area, meet new people and to get to the MICA Gallery for the opening of our newest exhibit! Join the Lansing Bike Party for a city wide bike ride from the Peanut Barrel in East Lansing at 6pm to the MICA Gallery for the opening of this show.
Refreshments will be served including mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails) will by a mixologist from our local distillery American Fifth Spirits.
Join us on to celebrate the opening reception of MICA Gallery’s newest exhibit Curating Roots: The Art of the Local Food Movement in Lansing. This exhibit explores urban farming, community gardens, farm to table restaurants and local non-profits that create a dynamic local food movement in our community. This exhibit is co-curated by Katrina M. Daniels and Emma Foley.
The opening reception welcomes the community with a meeting of music and local food. Musician Chelsea Koziatek accompanied by a group of musicians will play music live while dishes created by a chef from Soup Spoon based on the music are served. Artist and actor Katie Doyle will describe the food and the music as it is served.
